Our role in the project

We began by undertaking a site inspection that included some reverberation tests to understand the existing site conditions. Following this the site was modelled with a variety of different methods to achieve a desirable reverberation time while remaining within the constraints and considerations of the project. The findings were then summarised with technical advice to the client to best support and enable them to solve their acoustic problem.

Specific considerations

  • The site is multi-functional and open to the public; therefore, solutions must be flexible, durable and not interfere with the variety of activities.
  • Acoustic issues were identified post completion of the site; therefore, retrofitted solutions were required to be practical and economical.

Acoustic features of this project

  • Undertaking investigative reverberation tests which formed the basis of a CATT acoustic model assessment to best control the reverberant noise within the venue halls.
  • Finding solutions that were effective but also met the specific considerations of the project and its context.
