Sound Testing

The phrase ‘Sound Testing’ can cover many different areas. Most commonly at the moment, sound insulation testing is carried out for new and converted dwellings to comply with the Building Regulations and Code for Sustainable Homes. This can apply to houses, flats and also hotels or hostels, more information is given on our
Part E Residential page.

Other types of sound testing include:

  • Noise at Work – now including entertainment venues as well as factories, call centres, plant and machinery rooms
  • BREEAM – (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings, including: Courts, Education, Industrial, Healthcare, Offices, Retail, Prisons, Gulf & Multi-residential. Sound Testing is required to achieve the acoustic credits in Health and Wellbeing sections; we can also provide consultancy for the design section credits
  • Noise Surveys - for environmental impact assessment, planning, nuisance, BS4142 type assessments and similar see our Surveys and Monitoring page

Please contact us for any other Sound Testing requirements
